Former ECHL Player Houle
Named Lewiston Head Coach

LEWISTON, Maine – The Lewiston MAINEiacs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League announced that they have hired former ECHL player Jean-Francois Houle as their head coach.

Houle has been an assistant coach at his alma mater, Clarkson University, since 2003. Clarkson won the regular season East Coast Athletic Conference title in 2008 and the postseason tournament title in 2007 while advancing to the NCAA Tournament both years.

He played four seasons in the ECHL from 1997-2002 and had 202 points (76g-126a) and 388 penalty minutes in 216 regular season games and two points (1g-1a) and 16 penalty minutes in five Kelly Cup Playoff games. He also played in the American Hockey League where he had 30 points (8g-22a) and 111 penalty minutes in 72 regular season games and eight points (1g-7a) and 10 penalty minutes in 12 playoff games.
