DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that they have signed goaltender Craig Kowalski.
The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League and the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.
Selected in the eighth round (235th overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 26 year old has played each of the last three seasons with the Florida Everblades.
He was 29-13-4 with three shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.61 and a save percentage of .918 in 46 games in 2006-07 to help Florida finish first in the South Division. The 5-foot-8 and 190-pound netminder was 10-6 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.36 and a save percentage of .921 in the Kelly Cup Playoffs as the Everblades reached the American Conference Finals.
