GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Road Warriors announced today the team has signed rookie defensemen Edwin Shea and Brock Shelgren for the 2012-13 season. Both players come to the Road Warriors having spent the last four years playing Division I College Hockey.
Shea spent his college career at Boston College. In his four seasons with the Eagles, Shea tallied 21 points (1g-20a). The Massachusetts native was a key member of two national championship teams for Boston College. His last ever collegiate game was the 2012 NCAA National Championship, and it ended with Shea celebrating Boston College’s fifth ever national title.
Shelgren played the last four seasons at Michigan State University. A Chicago native, Shelgren tallied 29 points (8g-21a) in 138 career college games. In his final season, he helped the Spartans to the NCAA Tournament before losing to Union in the first round. Following his senior season, Shelgren signed on with the Alaska Aces, appearing in two regular season games, and one post-season contest with the team.
