Grizzlies add Isherwood to blue line


West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the team has signed defenseman Mark Isherwood, who most recently attended training camp with the AHL’s Abbotsford Heat.

 

The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the Heat and the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League.


Isherwood, 23, enters his third pro season after playing last year in Italy where he had seven goals and 18 assists for 25 points in 40 games with Cortina. He had two goals and four assists for six points in 11 games during the playoffs.

 

During his rookie season with the ECHL’s Alaska Aces in 2010-11, Isherwood led ECHL defensemen with 15 goals and 11 power-play goals; while also being named to the ECHL’s All Rookie Team. In addition, he was a member of the Aces Kelly Cup Championship team along with current Utah forward Kory Falite.
