West Valley City, Utah – The Utah Grizzlies will host Face-Off Against Hunger when they entertain Las Vegas Friday at 7:05 p.m. In addition, Saturday’s game will feature the team’s fifth annual “Pooch on the Pond” with fans invited to bring their dogs to the game and Angel’s Hands Night presented by Utah Central Credit Union.
Friday, fans will receive $5 off any ticket for each can of food donated. In addition, those attending the game will have the chance to skate on the Maverik Center ice for free after the contest. Skate rental is $2. All food will be donated to the Utah Food Bank.
For “Pooch on the Pond,” fans are invited to bring their dogs and sit in the special pooch section. There will also be a kennel club style dog show during the first intermission, featuring selected dogs at the game. The Grizzlies will be wearing special Angel’s Hands Jerseys that will be auctioned off live after the game with all proceeds going back to the Angel’s Hands Foundation.
Angel’s Hands Foundation (AHF) was founded in 2001 by Mark and Roxann Kristensen and friends. They have been working with the Grizzlies since before their inception. Upon returning from a national conference on their son Matt’s disease, friends of the Kristensen’s decided to raise money to help Utah families deal with the everyday struggles facing families with rare diseases.
