WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah – The Utah Grizzlies announced that they have signed goaltender Alfie Michaud and centers Jeff Miles and Kris Kasper.
In 2004-05, the 28-year-old Michaud was 27-13-5 with a league-leading six shutouts while ranking third with a goals-against average of 2.04 in 48 games with Peoria of the ECHL. He also played in the American Hockey League with Worcester where he was 2-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.50 and a save percentage of .930.
In his first full professional season in 2004-05, the 24-year-old Miles played in the ECHL All-Star Game and had 38 points (19g-19a) in 37 regular season games and six points (4g-2a) in five Kelly Cup Playoff games for Reading. Selected in the ninth round (268th overall) by Chicago in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Miles also played in the AHL with Manchester scoring six points (5g-1a) in 28 games.
In his first professional season in 2004-05, the 21-year-old Kasper had 17 points (8g-9a) and 201 penalty minutes in 51 games with Peoria and one assist and 10 penalty minutes in six games with Worcester in the AHL.
