GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Grrrowl on Friday announced that they will have an affiliation agreement with the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Roadrunners of the American Hockey League in 2004-05.
“The addition of Edmonton as a partner for next season signals a tremendous commitment by this organization to ensure a return to the successes we experienced in the past,” said John Marks, Head Coach and Vice President of Hockey Operations for the Grrrowl. “When a team is able to depend on solid prospects then the level of play is going to change. We will have the ability to develop players for both Edmonton in the NHL and Toronto in the AHL while improving our team at the same time.”
“We are extremely pleased with our new partnership and are looking forward to working with Greenville next season,” said Scott Howson, Assistant General Manager for Edmonton. “We feel our players will have a great opportunity to develop and gain the valuable experience necessary to make it to the next level.”
The Grrrowl will also have an affiliation with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL and the Norfolk Admirals of the AHL in 2004-05.
