GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Greenville Grrrowl announced that they have agreed to terms with six players, Jake Brenk, David Herring, Jason Jozsa, Adam Nightingale, Daryl Pierce (pictured) and Maris Ziedins for the 2005-06 season.
Brenk, 6-3 and 200-pound forward, played 11 regular season, scoring a goal and two assists, and 2 playoff games for the Grrrowl in 2004-05, after spending four years at the University of Minnesota-Mankato.
The 21-year-old Herring played in three regular season games and scored six points (4g-2a) in seven Kelly Cup Playoff games for Greenville in 2004-05. Prior to turning professional, 6-2 and 205-pound forward spent four seasons with Erie in the Ontario Hockey League.
Jozsa, joined the Grrrowl in 2004-05 as part of a seven-player trade with Toledo. The 6-1 and 185-pound defenseman had five points (2g-3a) in 15 regular season games and three points (2g-1a) in seven playoff games for the Grrrowl.
The 25-year-old Nightingale played 10 games with Greenville, scoring a goal and an assist and accumulating 16 penalty minutes, after spending two years at Michigan State University.
The 27-year old Ziedins also joined the Grrrowl in the seven-player trade with Toledo. He scored 15 points (9g-6a) in 12 games with Greenville before playing for the Latvian National Team in the World Championships.
The 6-1 and 220-pound Pierce finished the 2004-05 season with the Grrrowl, scoring nine assists and registering 162 penalty minutes in 62 games.
