PRINCETON, N.J. – Alex Kim of the San Diego Gulls is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for Mar. 20-26.
The 5-foot-10 and 195-pound Kim had seven points (4g-3a) and a plus-minus rating of +5 in three games while extending his scoring streak to 15 games, the longest active scoring streak in the ECHL and the fifth-longest streak in the league this season.
Returning to the lineup for the first time since suffering a broken collarbone on Jan. 7, the 26-year-old had the first of three multiple-point games with two goals and an assist in a 4-2 win against Pacific Division rival Long Beach on Mar. 24. He scored a goal and had an assist in a 3-1 win over Phoenix on Mar. 25 and had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 loss at Long Beach on Mar. 26.
In his first season with the Gulls, Kim leads the team in plus-minus rating with +18 and he has scored in 19 of his 21 games, registering 34 points (16g-18a). He leads the team with five shorthand points and is tied for the team lead with three shorthand goals and two shorthand assists. He has three multiple-goal games, three multiple-assist games and 10 multiple-point games and is tied for third on the team with three game-winning goals.
