DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that they have acquired goaltender Chad Collins from the Dayton Bombers in exchange for financial considerations.
Collins is expected to be in uniform when the Gladiators play at Florida on Friday.
The 24-year-old is 0-3-0 with a goals-against average of 7.54 and a save percentage of .780 in three games with the Bombers, who acquired him from Toledo on Nov. 8 in exchange for future considerations.
Collins was 2-1-1 with a goals-against average of 2.92 and a save percentage of .884 in four games with Toledo.
In his first professional season in 2004-05, the 24-year-old Collins was the Goaltender of the Year in the Southern Professional Hockey League after going 25-13 with four shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.48 and a save percentage of .922 with Fayetteville and was 2-1-0 with a goals-against average of 2.78 and a save percentage of .930 in four games with Augusta.
