History Puts Pressure On Aces

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – They have to win it all, of course.

Almost won’t cut it for the Alaska Aces, not for the players, the bench boss, the owners or the fans.

Not after the Aces rolled through the late season to win the West Division and National Conference crowns.

Not with home-ice advantage for as many as the first three of four rounds in the ECHL’s Kelly Cup playoffs, and not after earning the best home-ice record in the league.

Not with a stacked lineup of three scoring lines, a mobile defense and a masked rookie — Jean-Philippe Lamoureux — who was named Reebok ECHL Goaltender of the Year on Wednesday.
