TORONTO, Ontario – The Toronto Maple Leafs announced that they have signed Mike Hoffman, who played with Peoria of the ECHL as a rookie.
The Pensacola Ice Pilots are the ECHL affiliate of the Maple Leafs and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League.
In his first professional season in 2003-04, the 24-year-old Hoffman scored nine points (2g-7a) in 25 regular season games and one assist in eight Kelly Cup Playoff games with Peoria and had 20 penalty minutes in 15 games with Worcester of the AHL.
In 2004-05 with Cleveland of the AHL, Hoffman finished second on the team with 170 penalty minutes and scored eight points (1g-7a) in 58 games.
