IceMen add Fawcett, Kavanagh

Evansville, Ind. – The Evansville IceMen announced the signing of forward Tyson Fawcett and defenseman Mike Kavanagh for the 2015-16 season.

Fawcett joins Evansville after playing his rookie season with the Brampton Beast. The 22-year-old scored 24 points (9g-15a) in 59 games last season and represented the Beast in the ECHL All-Star Classic. Prior to turning pro, Fawcett scored 75 points (35g-40a) in 130 games for the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League.

Kavanagh comes to the IceMen after playing in 54 games last season for the Fayetteville FireAntz in the SPHL. A 27-year-old native of Little Neck, N.Y., Kavanagh scored 28 points (3g-25a in 54 games with Fayetteville. Kavanagh has previously played in the ECHL for both the Orlando Solar Bears and the Cincinnati Cyclones. During the 2013-14 season, he split time between the St. Charles Chill of the Central Hockey League and Fayetteville. Prior to starting his professional career, Kavanagh played three years of college hockey for SUNY-Plattsburgh before transferring to Curry College in Milton, Mass.
