PRINCETON, N.J. – Frank Doyle of the Idaho Steelheads is the Sun National Bank ECHL Saver of the Month for October.
In his first professional season, the 24-year-old Doyle led the ECHL in October with four wins, going 4-0-0 with a goal-against average of 1.47 and a save percentage of .939.
Under contract to Utah of the American Hockey League, the 6-1 and 175-pound Doyle began his professional career making 26 saves in a 5-1 season-opening win against Alaska on October 22. Doyle made 22 saves in a 5-2 win against Alaska on October 23 and had 22 saves in a 5-2 win at Fresno on October 29. He closed out the month making 22 saves in a 2-1 win at Fresno that moved the defending Kelly Cup Champion Steelheads into first place in the West Division.
