Idaho’s Trapp and Cunningham Receive
ECHL Marketing Award

ATLANTA – The ECHL announced on Friday that Eric Trapp and John Cunningham of the Idaho Steelheads are the 2003-04 recipient of the ECHL Marketing Award.

Trapp and Cunningham received their awards at the ECHL Marketing and Communications Meetings held June 7-9 in Atlanta. The meetings were attended by more than 170 representatives from ECHL teams. The winner is chosen in a vote of league general managers and marketing directors.

Trapp has been with Diamond Sports and Entertainment for the past 13 years. He oversees all sales and marketing efforts for the Bank of America Centre and Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL. Trapp implemented the sales and marketing plans for the companies baseball operations from 1996 to 2000 and oversaw the entire baseball operation from 1997-1998. In addition, Trapp assisted with sales and marketing for the Bank of America Centre.

Cunningham joined the Steelheads in September of 2000 after working as the general manager of the Bank of America Centre. Prior to managing the arena, he served as the general manager of the Boise Hawks baseball team from 1993-98. As senior vice president of Stamfair Sports, he worked to bring the Bridgeport Sound Tigers into the AHL. The West Coast Hockey League named Cunningham 2001-02 Executive of the Year.
