Idaho’s Valentine heads to AHL

Boise, Idaho – Idaho Steelheads Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced that defenseman Scott Valentine has signed a standard player contract with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

The Steelheads are the ECHL affiliate of Texas and the National Hockey League’s Dallas Stars.

Valentine, 23, signed an ECHL contract with the Steelheads in October and appeared in 12 of the team’s first 14 games, recording six assists, 20 penalty minutes and a +5 rating.

Prior to joining the Steelheads, Valentine spent the previous three seasons in the AHL with the Milwaukee Admirals where he tallied 33 points (10g-23a) in 192 games. He was selected by the Anaheim Ducks in the sixth round (166th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
