COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Columbia Inferno announced on Thursday that it has renewed its affiliation agreement with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League and the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League.
The renewal is a one-year extension of an existing agreement that will see the Moose and Inferno continue to work together to develop players within the Canucks organization.
“We are happy to continue the relationship Columbia has had with Vancouver and Manitoba,” said Columbia head coach Ted Dent. “We look forward to working with the young players within both organizations and developing them for the next level.”
In 2004-05, the Inferno had seven players during the season who were sent to Columbia by Manitoba.
“We are pleased to renew our partnership with the Columbia Inferno,” stated Moose general manager Craig Heisinger. “The affiliation has already been a successful working relationship as seen by the number of Columbia Inferno players moving from the ECHL to the American Hockey League level.”
