Jackals Acquire Martin From Trenton

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira Jackals announced that they have acquired Joel Martin from the Trenton Devils in exchange for future considerations and financial considerations, and that the goaltender has agreed to terms.

The 24 year old was 12-15-2 with a goals-against average of 3.45 and a save percentage of .904 in 32 regular season games for Trenton in 2006-07 and was 0-2 in the Kelly Cup Playoffs despite having a goals-against average of 1.08 and a save percentage of .963.

He also played in the AHL in 2006-07 where he was 1-0-0 with a goals-against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .971 in one game with Syracuse and 1-0-0 with a goals-against average of 4.57 and a save percentage of .822 in two games with Norfolk.

The ECHL Board of Governors unanimously approved the Membership Application of the Elmira Jackals for admission to the ECHL. Playing their first ECHL season in 2007-08, the Jackals have averaged 3,308 per game over the last seven seasons with 31 sellouts, including a team record standing-room-only crowd of 4,126 on Oct. 13, 2006.
