Jackals Sign MacMurchy, Rookies Faubert, Grimaldi

ELMIRA, N.Y. – The Elmira Jackals announced that they have signed rookie right wing Pierre-Luc Faubert, right wing Ryan MacMurchy and rookie defenseman Joe Grimaldi, who are all three scheduled to be in training camp with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

The 21-year-old Faubert had 66 points (32g-34a) in 70 regular season games and 27 points (12g-15a) in 17 playoff games for Lewiston of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 2006-07.

Selected in the ninth round (284th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the 2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft, the 6-foot-2 and 207-pound MacMurchy had 10 points (4g-6a) and 52 penalty minutes in 18 regular season games and five points (4g-1a) and 63 penalty minutes in 15 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs for Alaska as a rookie in 2006-07 while also playing in the American Hockey League where he had five points (4g-1a) and 20 penalty minutes in 24 games for Peoria.

The 21-year-old Grimaldi had 36 points (2g-34a) and 185 penalty minutes in 65 regular season games and one assist and 16 penalty minutes in five playoff games for Ottawa of the Ontario Hockey League in 2006-07.
