Kalamazoo, MI -The Kalamazoo Wings, proud member of the ECHL and affiliate of the National Hockey League’s New York Islanders and American Hockey League’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announce that the 11th Annual Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by WKFR will occur this Saturday, Dec. 18, when the K-Wings host the Reading Royals at 7:30 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to bring a new or gently used teddy bear or other stuffed animal to the Dec. 18game. After the K-Wings score their first goal, all fans will be allowed to throw their bears onto the ice.
A majority of the bears collected will be donated to Salvation Army. The remaining bears will be delivered by Kalamazoo Wings players, Slappy and Santa Clause to patients of The Children’s Hospital at Bronson on Tuesday, Dec. 21at 1:30 p.m.
Over the past 10 years, the K-Wings have collected thousands of stuffed animals thanks to our very generous fans that were distributed to children during the holidays.
