Kalamazoo’s Sirota named Reebok Hockey ECHL Player of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. – Kalamazoo Wings right wing Nick Sirota is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Player of the Month for March.


The 28-year-old tallied 10 goals and added seven assists for 17 points in 15 games, helping the K-Wings to their third consecutive North Division championship.


Sirota tallied at least one point in 13 of 15 games during the month, including a three-point game (1g-2a) in 6-1 win at Toledo on March 28, and a pair of two-point efforts on March 18 at Toledo and on March 25 against Cincinnati. He also registered a nine-game goal streak during March, tied for the sixth-longest goal-scoring streak in the ECHL’s 24-year history.


A native of Beaver Dam, Wis., Sirota finished second on the K-Wings with 23 goals this season and was tied for fifth on the club with 45 points.


Sirota has tallied 48 points (23g-25a) in 63 career ECHL games with Kalamazoo and Idaho. He also has 107 points (45g-62a) in 128 games with Missouri of the Central Hockey League.


Runners Up: Mike Radja, Elmira (14 gp, 14g, 4a, 18 pts.) and Cedric Lalonde-McNicoll, Florida (14 gp, 10g, 8a, 18 pts.).
