LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed former Dayton goaltender Jean-Sebastien Aubin.
The Reading Royals are the ECHL affiliate of the Kings of the NHL and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.
Selected in the third round (76th overall) by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft, the 30 year old played for Dayton in 1997-98 posting a 15-2-2 record with a 3.01 goals-against average and .911 save percentage in 21 appearances.
The 5-foot-11 and 180-pound netminder was 3-5-2 with a goals-against average of 3.34 and a save percentage of .876 in 20 games for Toronto in 2006-07.
In 1999-2000 with Pittsburgh, Aubin appeared in 51 games and was 23-21-3 with two shutouts and led NHL rookies in wins, games and minutes (2,789) while ranking second in save percentage (.914) and third in goals-against average (2.58).
He has played eight seasons in the NHL and is 75-77-15 with seven shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.91 and a save percentage in 199 games.
