Knapp named CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week


Connor Knapp of the Greenville Road Warriors is the CCM ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week of Dec. 16-22.


The 23-year-old went 2-0-0 with a 1.50 goals-against average and a save percentage of .951 last week, helping the Road Warriors to a 3-0-0 road trip to Florida.


A native of York, N.Y., Knapp made 30 saves in a 4-1 win at Florida on Friday and followed that up with 28 saves in a 3-2 victory at Orlando on Sunday.


Under contract to the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League, Knapp is 5-6-1 in 12 appearances with Greenville this season, ranks second in the ECHL with a .936 save percentage and is tied for seventh with a 2.17 goals-against average.


Knapp made his pro debut last season, going 5-7-0 with a 3.05 goals-against average and a save percentage of .909 in 12 appearances with the Road Warriors while also seeing action in seven games with Rochester of the American Hockey League. Prior to turning pro, he played four seasons at Miami University.
