Giosa, 27, will be entering his fourth year as a pro. Giosa began his career in the ECHL appearing in four games at the end of 2008-09 with Reading after leading Sacred Heart University his senior year with 16 goals and 29 points. The Northville, Mich. native has been a member of the Quad City Mallards the past two seasons in the CHL. After netting a team high 26 goals in 54 games during 2010-11, Giosa led Quad City centers with a career best 28 goals, 42 assists for a CHL eighth-best 70 points in 64 games last season with the Mallards. Giosa also ranked second in the league with 11 power play goals.
Maggio, 21, cut his pro teeth skating 15 playoff games with the Komets scoring two goals and five points en route to the 2012 CHL Presidents’ Cup Championship. Maggio, selected by the New York Rangers in the sixth round of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, joined the Komets after completing five OHL seasons. The Windsor, Ontario native finished 2011-12 with Oshawa netting seven goals and 19 points while accumulating a team-high 117 penalty minutes.
