Kompon’s Streak Ends At 25 Games

Mike Kompon did not score in Reading’s 3-1 win against Toledo on Friday, ending his scoring streak at 25 games which is the fourth-longest in ECHL history.

The 5-foot-10 and 185-pound Kompon scored 40 points (8g-32a) during the streak which began Nov. 26 with two assists in a 5-1 win at Trenton and included 10 games with two assists and 12 multiple-point games. He had a 10-game assist streak (14a) from Jan. 13-Mar. 8, tying the longest assist streak in the league this season set by Alex Leavitt of Alaska from Dec. 16-Jan. 10 (16a) and tied by Daniel Sisca of Florida from Dec. 9-30 (15a).

In his second season, the 24-year-old leads Reading with 41 assists, 56 points, 18 power-play assists and 25 power-play points in 41 games. He has also played in the American Hockey League where he has three assists in 11 games with Binghamton, one goal in three games with Hershey and one assist in two games with Manchester.
