TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Storm announced that forward Ken Magowan (pictured) and goaltender Logan Koopmans have joined the team in training camp.
The Storm is the ECHL affiliate of the Detroit Red Wings and the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League and the Grand Rapids Griffins and the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.
Selected in the seventh round (198th overall) by the New Jersey Devils in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, the 25-year-old Magowan had 57 points (27g-30a) and 133 penalty minutes in 68 regular season games and four points (2g-2a) and 24 penalty minutes in 12 games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs for Toledo in 2005-06. He also played in the AHL where he had one assist in two games with Rochester and also played in four games with Philadelphia.
Selected in the fifth round (166th overall) by the Red Wings in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, the 22-year-old Koopmans was 7-2-2 with a shutout, a goals-against average of 2.93 and a save percentage of .912 in 12 regular season games and 2-5 with a goals-against average of 3.87 and a save percentage of .895 in seven games in the Kelly Cup Playoffs for Toledo in 2005-06.
