West Valley City, Utah – Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that goaltender J.P. Lamoureux has been recalled to the AHL’s Abbotsford Heat.
The Grizzlies are the ECHL affiliate of the Heat and the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League.
Lamoureux, who last week went 2-0 with two shutouts and was named the ECHL’s Goaltender of the Week, leaves Utah with a 10-7-1-0 record, a league-leading three shutouts, a 2.58 goals-against-average and a .914 save percentage. Earlier this year, Lamoureux went 1-0-0-1 with Abbotsford with a 2.89 goals-against-average and a .895 save percentage. He started games on October 30 and November 14.
The University of North Dakota product was named the ECHL Goaltender of the Year with Alaska in 2008-2009 and spent the 2009-2010 season with Portland of the AHL.
