Late goal lifts Rush to 2-1 win

The Rapid City Rush defeated the Quad City Mallards 2-1 on Wednesday in Game 7 of their Central Division Semifinals series. Rapid City advances to meet Allen in the Central Division Finals.

The teams were scoreless through 40 minutes until Cody Ferriero put Rapid City on the board 3:26 into the third period. The score stayed 1-0 until the closing miutes when Justin Fox pulled the Mallards even with 1:32 left.

But, Ferriero answered just 31 seconds later to give Rapid City the win.

Six of the seven games in the series were decided by one goal, and the two teams combined for just 28 goals, the fewest in a seven-game series in ECHL postseason history.
