VICTORIA, British Columbia – Brady Leavold is hoping to be dealt a better hand this week, and what more appropriate team to have that happen against than Las Vegas?
The veteran Victoria Salmon King returns to a last-place ECHL club desperate for answers and hoping to find some in Leavold, a battling five-foot-11, 190-pound forward who brought grit and presence to the Salmon Kings in the past.
The 22-year-old Port Coquitlam native was re-signed yesterday and will see action when the Salmon Kings (6-13-3) host the Phoenix Coyotes-affiliate Las Vegas Wranglers (9-12-1) Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. inside Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
Leavold returns after suffering from H1N1 and failing the physical exam in Salmon Kings training camp. A subsequent stint with the Tilburg Trappers in Holland lasted only a blink because of homesickness and incompatibility.
