Ledin Fulfills NHL Dream

Per Ledin played 27 games as a Baton Rouge Kingfish before returning to his native Sweden. The Kingfish played only another season and a half before the franchise shut down.

But, seven years after ice hockey left Baton Rouge, one of its alumni fulfilled a dream.

Ledin, a 30-year-old left wing, played the final three regular-season games for the Colorado Avalanche, which didn’t make the Stanley Cup playoffs. Though he compiled no goals or assists, he got regular shifts in all three games.

“It’s been a long journey,” Ledin said by telephone last week. “It’s been a lot of fun. It took me a while, and now it’s a dream come true.”
