Luciani named CCM ECHL Player of the Month


Anthony Luciani of the Cincinnati Cyclones is the CCM ECHL Player of the Month for January.


The 23-year-old scored 10 goals and added nine assists in 11 games during the month helping the Cyclones to an 8-3-0 record in January.


A native of Maple, Ontario, Luciani scored at least one goal in seven games, including a hat trick in a 5-1 win against Gwinnett on Jan. 15 and two goals in a 5-4 loss to Elmira on Jan. 16. Luciani tallied at least one point in nine of the 11 games in January, and had one four-point game and three points on three other occasions.


Under contract to Florida of the National Hockey League, Luciani leads the Cyclones this season with 18 goals, which is tied for fourth in the ECHL and 40 points, which ranks seventh in the league.


Luciani has 105 points (48g-57a) in 118 career games with Cincinnati, and was named ECHL Rookie of the Month in December 2011. He has appeared in 10 career American Hockey League games with San Antonio, recording four points (3g-1a).
