MacLellan agrees to terms with Thunder

Stockton, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s New York Islanders and AHL’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers, announced the signing of forward Jack MacLellan for the 2014-15 season.

MacLellan, 26, is a Brown University graduate, who played for the Bears from 2008-12, tallying 101 points (46g-55a) in 121 games. He was named to the NCAA ECAC All-Academic team in 2008-09, the Second All-Star Team in 2010-11 and 2011-12 and was also a member of the NCAA All-Ivy League First Team during his senior season while also serving as the team captain.

The Calgary, Alberta native signed as an undrafted free agent with the Nashville Predators in 2012, recording two points (1g-1a) in 35 American Hockey League games with Milwaukee and adding eight points (2g-6a) in 10 ECHL games with Cincinnati.

Last season, the 5’11, 185 lb. forward began the season with the Wheeling Nailers, scoring 17 points (11g-6a) in 30 games, before heading overseas where he joined the Dundee Stars. MacLellan played a total of 11 games, including two postseason contests in the EIHL.
