WINNIPEG, Manitoba – The Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League announced that they have re-signed 2003 ECHL Rookie of the Year and two-time ECHL All-Star Game starter Jason Jaffray.
The Columbia Inferno is the ECHL affiliate of Manitoba and the Vancouver Canucks of the National Hockey League.
In his first professional season in 2002-03, Jaffray was named First Team All-ECHL and to the ECHL All-Rookie Team while also being voted ECHL Rookie of the Year after scoring 85 points (34g-51a) in 64 games with Roanoke. In 2003-04, Jaffray was voted as a starter in the ECHL All-Star Game for the second consecutive year and was named Second Team All-ECHL while finishing third in voting for Most Valuable Player. He finished third in the league with 37 goals and 74 points in 54 games with Wheeling while registering an assist in five games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.
In 2004-05, the 24-year-old had eight points (4g-4a) and six penalty minutes in 14 games with Manitoba and 16 points (10g-6a) and 22 penalty minutes in 30 games with Cleveland of the AHL while also playing 23 games with Wheeling where he had 12 points (6g-6a) and 22 penalty minutes.
