Mavericks add goaltender Missiaen

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — The Missouri Mavericks announced that they have signed goaltender Jason Missiaen to a contract for the 2015-16 season.

The Mavericks are the ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League.

Missiaen was a fourth-round selection (166th overall) of the Montreal Canadiens in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Since his professional debut with the Greenville Road Warriors in 2011-12, Missiaen has gone on to play 103 ECHL games with Greenville, and 44 American Hockey League games with the Connecticut Whale/Hartford Wolf Pack.

The 25-year-old has an overall ECHL record of 58-35-7 with three shutouts, a 2.85 goals-against average and a save percentage of .912.
