Mavericks re-sign Robinson, add de Kastrozza

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. — The Missouri Mavericks announced that they have signed goaltender Josh Robinson and forward David de Kastrozza for the 2015-16 season.

The Mavericks are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s New York Islanders and the American Hockey League’s Bridgeport Sound Tigers.

Robinson joined the Mavericks midway through the 2014-15 season after beginning the season in Europe. In 18 games with Missouri he posted a 6-10-2 record with a 2.90 goals-against average and a save percentage of .912. A native of Frankenmuth, Mich., Robinson has appeared in 80 career ECHL games with Missouri and Idaho going 46-25-7 with a 2.64 goals-against average and a save percentage of .919.

de Kastrozza was acquired by the Mavericks earlier in the off-season as part of a future considerations element in the trade that sent defenseman Martin Lee to the Idaho Steelheads ahead of the 2015 ECHL trade deadline. A native of Toms River, N.J., de Kastrozza tallied 42 points (19g-23a) in 64 regular-season games with the Steelheads last season. The 28-year-old has 175 points (82g-93a) in 292 career ECHL games with Idaho and South Carolina.
