Alaska Aces coach Keith McCambridge last summer coveted defenseman Tyson Marsh so badly he still remembers where he was when Marsh delivered the news he intended to sign with the Reading Royals.
“At my in-laws in Manitoba, in the driveway, trying to get better (cell phone) reception,” McCambridge recalled recently, shaking his head and grinning at the memory. “I went after him really hard.”
Still, McCambridge eventually got his man.
When the bench boss traded rookie winger Erik Felde of Anchorage to Reading in early March, the Aces received Marsh’s ECHL rights in return.
