McInnis, Solar Bears agree to terms

Orlando, Fla. – The Orlando Solar Bears, ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL’s Toronto Marlies, announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Johnny McInnis.

McInnis had 47 points (16g-31a) in 62 games split between the Solar Bears and Florida Everblades last season. He led all Solar Bears with six points (3g-3a) in six Kelly Cup Playoffs appearances, and was tied for second on the team with three goals. A rookie last season, McInnis made his professional debut playing two games for the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League at the end of the 2013-14 season.

A native of Boston, McInnis played four seasons (2010-14) for the Minnesota State University-Mankato Mavericks, where he posted 79 points (43g-36a) in 133 career games. McInnis led the Mavericks with 21 goals during his senior season (2013-14) while finishing third on the team with 38 points.
