NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. – The South Carolina Stingrays announced that they will hold “Midnight Madness” open tryouts on October 8 and 9 at the Carolina Ice Palace. At least one hopeful from the “Midnight Madness” tryouts will be guaranteed a spot in the team’s regular training camp, which opens October 9, as well as the opportunity to dress for a preseason game.
“We have placed advertisements in some national and international hockey magazines to attract hockey players who are looking to earn a professional contract,” said Stingrays vice president of sales and marketing Chris George. “There are so many would-be professionals in rinks everywhere wishing that they had the opportunity to earn a professional contract and this is their chance.”
“Midnight Madness” participants will partake in drills and scrimmages under the watchful eye of the Stingrays coaching staff during the two-night event with the top player(s) being signed immediately to a tryout with the team, giving them the opportunity to earn an ECHL contract.
