Minnesota Signs Former Augusta Defenseman Lakos

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League announced that they have signed former Augusta Lynx defenseman Andres Lakos.

The 27-year-old has played the last two seasons in Austria and had 44 points (16g-28a), 125 penalty minutes and a plus-minus rating of +27 in 52 games for Salzburg in 2006-07. The Vienna, Austria native led team defensemen and was sixth on the team in scoring and was second in penalty minutes to help Salzburg win the league championship.

The 6-foot-6 and 230-pound Lakos has represented Austria in the World Championships eight times in the last nine years, including the last six in a row, and also played four games for Austria in the 2002 Olympics.
