Mississippi Signs Sauve

BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced that the team has signed free agent goaltender Phil Sauve, who was 7-7-3 with a goals-against average of 3.04 and a save percentage of .896 in 17 games with Colorado of the National Hockey League in 2003-04.

Selected in the second round (38th overall) by Colorado in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft, Sauve was named the Most Valuable Player at the 2004 NHL Young Stars Game, turning aside 18-of-21 shots in the Western Conference’s 7-3 win at St. Paul, Minn.

Son of former NHL goaltender Bob Sauve, Phil Sauve was 3-7-0 with two shutouts, a goals-against average of 2.59 and a save percentage of .910 in 10 games with Hershey of the American Hockey League in 2003-04.
