MVP Campbell, Awe Return To Gladiators

DULUTH, Ga. – The Gwinnett Gladiators announced that they have added ECHL CCM Vector Most Valuable Player Jeff Campbell and defenseman Jon Awe to their training camp roster while releasing goaltender Chad Collins and trading forward Derek Nesbitt to the Idaho Steelheads in exchange for financial considerations.

The Gladiators are the ECHL affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League and the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League.

Campbell was named First Team All-ECHL in 2005-06 after being named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team in 2004-05 and he has been voted to the ECHL All-Star Game each of his first two professional seasons. In 2005-06, he tied for second in the league with seven game-winning goals and five shorthand goals and was fifth with 53 assists and 83 points in 62 games for the Gladiators while also playing in the AHL where he had two points (1g-1a) in seven games for Lowell.
