WHEELING, WV – The Wheeling Nailers announced Thursday, that a pair of players have been assigned to the American Hockey League. Defenseman David Urquhart has been recalled by the Hamilton Bulldogs, while forwardand team captain Andrew Lord has been loaned to the Milwaukee Admirals. The Nailers also announced that they have acquired Chris Poli from the Gwinnett Gladiators in exchange for future considerations.
In 17 games played this season, Urquhart has registered a goal and five assists for the Nailers. Prior to Wheeling, He played 107 games with the Hartford Wolfpack (AHL) posting 18 points in one and a half seasons from 2008-2010.
Lord joins Milwaukee leading the Nailers in several statistical categories this season, including overall points (16), assists (9), penalty Minutes (58) and game winning goals (3). Lord played three games for the Rochester Americans last season amassing 17 penalty minutes. He is in his third season with the Nailers, serving his second as team captain.
The 6-1, 210 pound Poli, bolsters the Nailers lineup up front. He has five points (3g-2a) in 17 games this season with Gwinnett. He was over a point per game player last season with the Trenton Devils, posting 39 points (13g-26a) in just 36 games played. He played 11 games for Trenton in 2007-08, and 8 games in 2008-09. He was acquired by the Gladiators in a trade with the Trenton Devils on September 2nd for future considerations. Prior to Trenton, the Medfield, Massachusetts native played four seasons at Brown University. He finished his collegiate career with 49 points.
