WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Nailers announced that they will be going “Pink” this weekend to help raise money and awareness for breast cancer patients in the Ohio Valley.
The Nailers will donate $1 from every ticket sold at the box office and the proceeds from the postgame auction of the team’s pink jerseys to Ohio Valley’s Awareness Inc.
More than $9,000 was raised last season for Ohio Valley Awareness Inc. which would like to purchase three laptop computers for patients to use while undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
The Nailers are the ECHL affiliate of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL and the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League. The head coach of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is former ECHL player Dan Bylsma and the assistant coach is former ECHL player Todd Reirden.
