The Wheeling Nailers announced that they have re-signed Andrew Lord for the 2010-11 season.
The Nailers are the ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins and Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
Lord has been one of the steadiest Nailers the past two seasons playing in a combined 139 games, the most of anyone on the Wheeling squad in that span. He finished the 2009-10 season with his first call-up to the AHL playing three games for the Rochester Americans.
Last year the center from West Vancouver, BC finished with 17 goals and 19 assists as well as 185 penalty minutes. Lord finished second in the ECHL in major penalties with 21 and was honored as the team’s Most Valuable Player. He also wore the “C” on his jersey and served as the team’s captain for the last several weeks of the season.
