Nailers Sign Johnson, Nebus

WHEELING, W.Va. – The Wheeling Nailers announced that they have signed have signed forwards Erik Johnson and Mark Nebus.

The Nailers are the ECHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League. The head coach of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is former ECHL player Dan Bylsma and the assistant coach is former ECHL player Todd Reirden.

The 27-year-old Johnson played in the Central Hockey League in 2007-08 and had 28 points (7g-21a) and eight penalty minutes in 39 regular season games and three assists and two penalty minutes in six playoff games for New Mexico after beginning the season with Youngstown where he had nine points (4g-5a) and 18 penalty minutes in 16 games.

The 26-year-old Nebus played in the International Hockey League in 2007-08 and had two assists and 47 penalty minutes in 40 games with Port Huron and four points (1g-3a) and 43 penalty minutes in 28 games for Kalamazoo.
