Everblades reach Conference Finals for second straight year

The Florida Everblades advacned to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second consecutive season on Friday with a 2-1 double overtime win at Orlando in Game 5 of the South Division Finals of the 2019 Kelly Cup Playoffs presented by SmileDirectClub.

Florida will take on the winner of the Newfoundland/Manchester series in the Conference Finals. The Growlers lead that series 3 games to 2 with Game 6 set for Monday in Newfoundland.

John McCarron scored the game-winning goal 14:48 into the second overtime period, putting home a pass from Michael Neville.

Blake Winiecki (3g-1a) and Matt Finn (4g) shared the team lead for Florida in the series with four points each while Hunter Fejes led Orlando with three points (3g).
