West Valley City, Utah – The Utah Grizzlies, ECHL affiliate of the Colorado Avalanche, have signed defensemen Alex Lepkowski and Edwin Hookenson for the 2020-21 season.
Lepkowski played at Acadia University for the past four seasons, where he had 18 points (5g-13a). Before attending Acadia, Lepkowski played in 62 ECHL games with the Missouri Mavericks in the 2014-15 season. He also has experience with Greenville of the ECHL and Rochester in the American Hockey League. Lepkowski also has five years of experience in the Ontario Hockey League. He was drafted in the fifth round (137th overall) by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
Hookenson played at Minnesota State-Mankato the last four seasons, serving as alternate captain his senior season, and tallying 31 points (8g-23a) over his collegiate career. Prior to his college days, Hookenson played with the British Columbia Hockey League’s Nanaimo Clippers for three years.
