Burroughs makes NHL debut

Former Missouri Mavericks' defenseman Kyle Burroughs became the 694th former ECHL player to reach the National Hockey League when he debuted with the Colorado Avalanche at Minnesota on Monday.

Burroughs is the 16th former ECHL player to make his NHL debut during the 2020-21 season. He had seven points (1g-6a) in 18 games with the Mavericks during the 2015-16 season.

Selected in the seventh round (196th overall) by the New York Islanders in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, Burroughs has totaled 83 points (17g-66a) in 321 career American Hockey League games with Bridgeport and Colorado.
