Offensive threat Nicholls joins Eagles

WINDSOR, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles announced that they have agreed to terms with forward Josh Nicholls for the 2016-17 season.

The Eagles are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Colorado Avalanche and the American Hockey League’s San Antonio Rampage.

The Richmond, British Columbia native has netted 130 points (62g-68a) in 174 career ECHL games with Greenville, posting at least 20 goals in each of his three seasons with the club.

Nicholls has also appeared in 22 AHL contests with the Hartford Wolf Pack, registering four points (1g-3a). Drafted in the seventh round of the 2010 NHL Draft by the Toronto Maple Leafs, Nicholls made the jump to the pro game following a stellar career at the major junior level with the Saskatoon Blades of the Western Hockey League. In 332 games with the Blades, Nicholls notched 313 points, scoring at least 30 goals in three of his five seasons in the WHL. In his final season in Saskatoon, he recorded 85 points (47g-38a).
