Oklamhoma City Recalls Thunder’s Bendfeld

STOCKTON, Calif. –The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks, announced today that the Oilers have recalled defenseman Jordan Bendfeld from the Thunder to the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.


The 6-foot-3, 230-pound defenseman has skated in five games for the Thunder this year and was selected in the seventh round (193rd overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft by Edmonton. He has appeared in 74 career games for the Thunder over the last three seasons (2008-11), scoring 13 points (1g-12a) while posting 138 penalty minutes.


Last season, the Leduc, Alberta native recorded five points (1g-4a) and a +10 rating in 15 Kelly Cup Playoff games, helping guide the Thunder to the National Conference Finals for the first time in team history. Bendfeld also suited up in 52 regular season games last year for the Thunder, posting ten assists and 91 penalty minutes.


He also skated in ten AHL games for Springfield, collecting one assist and seven penalty minutes.
